AAJ Appoints Brett Emison to Service Committee - 2011-05-23

Brett Emison

The American Association for Justice (AAJ) has appointed Langdon & Emison attorney Brett A. Emison to the organization’s Marketing and Client Service Committee, which counsels attorneys on hot topics in litigation relevant to their field.  The AAJ is the nation’s premier nonprofit group dedicated to the plaintiff bar – Brett’s three-year term will commence with the completion of the AAJ’s annual convention, on July 14, 2011.

“I’m looking forward to collaborating with some of the nation’s leading plaintiff attorneys in this endeavor,” said Brett, who also serves on the board of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and as president of the Lafayette County Bar Association.  “The AAJ has led the way in so many areas of the country’s jurisprudence.  I’m honored that they would extend this opportunity to me, and proud that the firm will continue to work with the AAJ on many important projects.”

Brett’s practice is primarily dedicated to the serious injury of people from dangerous products, automobile collisions and fires, defective automobile design, and semi-truck collisions.  A regular blogger on issues related to product safety and consumer advocacy, Brett has been published in national and local publications.  He also is frequently invited to speak on those topics to law schools, trade organizations, and others.

This appointment is the latest distinction for Brett – at the end of last year, Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers named him a “Rising Star,” while a few weeks ago, he led a Langdon & Emison legal team that was able to obtain a substantial verdict in Lafayette County in a personal injury trial where State Farm refused to stand up for its insured.  Before joining Langdon & Emison, Brett practiced in a commercial litigation firm after completing a judicial law clerkship for the Honorable William Ray Price, Jr., of the Supreme Court of Missouri.

About Langdon & Emison:  From Missouri offices in Lexington, Kansas City, and St. Louis, Langdon & Emison represents clients from coast to coast in the areas of product liability and personal injury law.  The firm’s attorneys and litigation support resources have been nationally recognized, regularly obtaining favorable verdicts in complex personal injury litigation such as wrongful death and transportation liability.  This includes car-truck collisions, train accidents, dangerous drugs, and more – as a result of the litigation handled by Langdon & Emison, several defective products and practices dangerous to the American consumer have been changed or abandoned altogether.
