Missouri Lawyers Weekly selected Brett Emison as one of its “Up and Coming Lawyers” for 2011, an annual award that recognizes the state’s top attorneys under the age of 40 “based on their contributions to the legal profession and the community.”
Brett is one of only a handful of attorneys from the plaintiff's bar to make this year's rendition of the list. The honorees will be recognized on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at an evening reception at the Mad Art Gallery in St. Louis.
Brett's practice focuses almost exclusively on catastrophic injury and death cases, as well as class action and other complex tort cases, including automobile defects, railroad crossing accidents (train accidents), trucking accidents, dangerous or defective drugs, defective medical devices, and a variety of other cases.
Brett serves on the Board of Governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA) and is involved in a number of legal organizations, including the Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG), American Association for Justice (AAJ), Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), and the Lafayette County Bar Association. Brett regularly presents at seminars and other educational events teaching other attorneys the strategies learned in trials and cases across the country.
