California Trial Lawyer Magazine Publishes Brett Emison on Actos Litigation - 2012-04-26

Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) has published Brett Emison's new article on Actos litigation, appearing in the March/April 2012 edition of Forum Magazine. The piece looks at how a number of scientific studies have raised doubts connected to Takeda's popular diabetes drug.

"Despite Actos’ popularity and global sales, studies have now confirmed that Actos greatly increases the risk of bladder cancer in certain patients," Brett wrote. "These studies have led to dozens of lawsuits filed across the country. Of importance presently is a French National Health Insurance Plan investigation that showed significant increase in the risk for bladder cancer in patients exposed to pioglitazone compared to patients exposed to other anti-diabetic agents."

Brett, who last year was named one of the top young attorneys practicing in the state of Missouri, has published recently on diverse subjects such as defective tires and dangerous railroad crossings. He also regularly authors related articles on the popular consumer safety blog dedicated to the subject.

CAOC is dedicated to the belief that "what occurs in California’s courts can be colored by laws and regulations that are debated in the state Capitol. CAOC maintains a vigilant presence in Sacramento with a team of legislative advocates who continually fight to ensure that our courts remain accessible to all and to level the playing field for underdog consumers facing wealthy and powerful foes."
