Kent Emison Publishes Article Asking to "Keep Courthouses Open" - 2011-12-09

J. Kent Emison

Kent Emison published an open letter this month titled "Keeping the Courthouse Doors Open," about the importance of citizens' access to the civil justice system.  The article was published in the Winter 2011 edition of Missouri Trial Attorney magazine, which came out this week.

"In 2010, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce pledged $75 million to elect pro-corporate, anti-justice politicians to enact 'reforms' like caps on damages, immunity, federal pre-emption, and other anti-justice measures," Kent writes.

Kent is an involved member of the national debate on tort reform. This summer he was appointed to the National Finance Committee, the fundraising arm of the American Association for Justice
