Missouri on the Move

Employees from Langdon & Emison have enrolled as a team in the Missouri on the Move walking program. The program uses pedometers to help participants monitor and motivate an increase in physical activity over an 8-week period. Lorie Kreisel, a paralegal at the firm, serves on the steering committee for Missouri on the Move in Lafayette County.

Participants record their steps daily or weekly in their personal record log and report weekly progress to their team leader.  The program begins March 4 and will run until April 28. Several members of the staff at the firm have joined the team, whose goal is to increase walking by 2000 steps/day per individual. This is equivalent to walking about 1 mile more each day.

The program is coordinated by the University of Missouri Extension Office, Health Coalition of Lafayette County, and Lafayette County Health Department. In October, the firm was the fastest finishing law firm among corporate relay teams at the Kansas City marathon.
