Langdon & Emison Provides Student Scholarship for MATA - 2011-09-16

As part of the firm's ongoing support of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, Langdon & Emison provided a full scholarship this year to a law student to attend the MATA annual convention. UMKC School of Law student Tiffany Sears was this year's recipient, and was able to attend the annual conference at the Lake of the Ozarks.

"Attending the 53rd Annual Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys convention was, quite simply, one of the best things I have done for my education and my career," Tiffany said. "As a law student, you do not get many opportunities in life to do something so simple that has such a profound effect on your career."

Along with other firms in western Missouri, Langdon & Emison has also been involved in the charitable arm of MATA, Missouri Trial Lawyers Care, or Mo-TLC. In conjunction with Mo-TLC, the firm also this year collected a range of canned goods and food as part of the Harvesters food drive. Other food banks targeted for donations as part of the 2011 food drive included the Central Missouri Food Bank in Columbia, St. Louis Area Food Bank, Southeast Missouri Food Bank in Cape Girardeau and Ozarks Food Harvest in Springfield.

"The months of planning paid off, and Big Top MATA was officially the best attended convention in the history of MATA," said executive director Sara J. Schuett. "The incredible generosity of our members who are willing to participate as sponsors allow us to put on the best possible events."
