Two Langdon & Emison Attorneys Named to National 40 Under 40 - 2012-02-01

Langdon & Emison attorneys Brett Emison and Phyllis Norman have been chosen for membership in the Top 40 Under 40 Association for leading trial attorneys in the U.S. who have not yet reached 40 years of age. The 40 Under 40 grouping is under the auspices of the National Trial Lawyers, and is conducted by invitation only.

According to the National Trial Lawyers, 40 Under 40 inclusion is "extended exclusively to those individuals who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as a young trial lawyer." The National Trial Lawyers bills itself as the premier organization in the nation dedicated to honoring trial attorneys.

As an attorney at Langdon & Emison, Brett has achieved recongition for trying cases against some of the largest corporations in the world, including all major auto manufacturers, railroad companies and trucking companies, as well as major pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Brett serves on the Executive Committee of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA).

Phyllis was sworn in as President of the Association of Women Lawyers - Greater Kansas City chapter on January 1. Last year, Missouri Lawyers Weekly selected her as one of the most accomplished women attorneys in the state of Missouri under the age of 40, while the 2010 and 2011 editions of Super Lawyers named Phyllis a "Rising Star" for product liability litigation in the state of Missouri. The AWL also honored her last December with its President's Award, the highest achievement recognizing an attorney who has dedicated herself to the women's bar.
