Kevin Conrad

Kevin represents clients in a wide variety of personal injury matters.  A Chicago native and a lawyer with both experience on the defense and plaintiff’s side of civil litigation, he most recently worked with the Kane County Public Defender’s office, where he represented individuals in state court criminal matters.

During that time with the Public Defender’s office, Kevin actively managed over 150 clients and served as first-chair trial counsel in over 20 criminal trials and secured not-guilty verdicts in every trial.  During this time he managed all aspects of litigation strategy, including voir dire, substantive motion practice, and trial strategy.

Before that he was an associate and staff attorney, respectively, at Johnson & Bell, Ltd., and Jenner & Block.  At Jenner he was a member of the team within the Complex Commercial Litigation practice that defended mortgage originators against breach of contract and tort claims.  He assisted with all phases of civil litigation, including performing legal research and document review, drafting discovery motions, and preparing for depositions.

At Johnson & Bell, Kevin represented clients in federal and state court, regarding matters including products liability, medical malpractice, and negligence.  He drafted and argued substantive and dispositive motions, including successfully arguing one state court motion to dismiss (defamation case) and one federal court motion to dismiss (proposed class action).  Kevin managed all aspects of civil discovery, including drafting written discovery, taking offensive and defensive depositions, drafting and arguing motions to compel, and directing document production and review.  He was able to provide litigation support in connection with two federal court, multi-week trials as nationwide trial counsel for a Fortune 100 consumer products manufacturer.

An active volunteer with pro bono legal services, Kevin has worked with Cabrini Green Legal Aid and other nonprofits.  He graduated from Washington University School of Law, St. Louis, in 2010, where he was a member of the Civil Justice Clinic.  Kevin attended Monmouth College and is active in Chicagoland bar associations and professional groups.
