Gabby Thurn
Gabby is an associate attorney who represents individuals and families who have been seriously injured through the negligence of others. Practicing in the firm’s Independence, Mo., office, she has devoted her practice to plaintiff’s personal injury litigation, with a focus on complex cases involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and product liability.
A graduate of UMKC School of Law, Gabby approaches every matter with the understanding that behind each file is a person whose life has been upended, and that the work of the legal team is often their best chance at accountability and recovery. As a key member of the firm’s litigation teams, she is involved at every stage of a case, from early investigation and discovery through motion practice, expert development, and trial preparation.
Colleagues and clients alike rely on her thoroughness, her sound judgment, and her ability to keep demanding cases moving forward with precision. Outside the office, she is an active member of several bar associations, and is an active member of the UMKC Alumni Association.
Gabby actually started her career here as an Administrative Assistant during her last year of college, and was promoted to Legal Assistant shortly before graduation. She continued working as a Legal Assistant through July 2023 before beginning law school.
During law school, Gabby returned to the firm over each school break as a Law Clerk and also worked part-time during her 2L and 3L years. In addition to her experience at the firm, she also served as a Rule 13 Intern at the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, where she gained valuable courtroom experience by entering her appearance and participating in several hearings.
