John Tyner
John represents individuals and families facing the aftermath of catastrophic injury and wrongful death. His practice focuses on complex cases involving defective products, trucking accidents, unsafe premises, breach of trust, and other acts of negligence.
Since joining Langdon & Emison in 2019, John has brought substantial litigation experience in both federal and state courts to high-stakes personal injury matters. He plays a key role in all phases of litigation, from case initiation through resolution, and in 2025 he was accepted into the National Trial Lawyers Products Liability Top 25 in recognition of his work on defective-product cases.
Before joining the firm, John was a shareholder at Polsinelli, P.C., where he first- and second-chaired jury and bench trials in U.S. District Courts and other state courts. He also drafted appellate briefs and writs and argued before the Missouri appellate courts, an experience that continues to inform his work in complex litigation.
John is admitted to practice in Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas. Before becoming a litigator, he served as a law clerk for the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District.
John is also active in the legal community through professional memberships and speaking engagements. He is a member of the Missouri Association for Trial Attorneys and the National Trial Lawyers, and he has presented on topics including defense tracking through electronic devices, contingency-fee litigation strategy in non-personal-injury cases, and the discovery process in litigation.
He earned his J.D., with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in business administration. He passed the CPA exam in 2005, bringing an additional analytical perspective to complex damages and liability issues.
